Academy Corporation is equipped with the knowledge, experience, and resources to provide our customers a variety of refinery services.
Academy offers pick-up and delivery services, machine sales and service, canister sales and service, and silver recovery for the photographic, graphic art, and medical industries.
The silver-refining department purifies silver flake, silver bearing TMT, silver recovery cartridges, and miscellaneous sterling silver manufacturing by-products. The gold refining department refines numerous gold-bearing materials.
Academy’s refining services are currently available at the main plant in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Our state-of-the-art lab provides accurate and timely assays for our customers’ material.
Because we do 100% of the assaying and refining in-house, we are able to ensure a very high standard of quality control over our refining services. As part of Academy’s Quality Control Program, incoming materials are analyzed to insure that problem impurities are not introduced into the refining process. Positive identification of customer material is maintained until assays have been completed and the customer has been notified of the results. Samples are taken and assayed at each step of the refining process to maintain the high purity of our end products. All final products are assayed and must meet applicable ASTM purity standards as well as more strict Academy Corporation and customer standards.
After the refining process is completed, Academy Corporation produces various products for the industries we serve. These include 99.99% Fine Silver products, sterling silver shot, sheet and wire products, and sputtering targets.
