The two on-sight labs at Academy Corporation provide extensive, analytical capabilities to our refinery and to our customers. The analytical equipment used to perform assays includes an ICP spectrometer and oxygen analyzer. Samples analyzed range from very high purity gold and silver to low grade materials such as sweeps and sludges.

Academy Corporation also performs analysis of photographic and x-ray fixers for silver content. This service helps our photo and x-ray customers to remain in compliance with wastewater discharge regulations and to maximize the amount of silver recovered by their equipment.

Assays are performed via wet chemical analysis, fire assay, spectroscopic analysis, or a combination of these. All assays are performed in duplicate or triplicate and are proof corrected.

Because the accuracy and precision of our assays is of utmost importance to us, we participate in ASTM sponsored Proficiency Test Programs annually.
